Luxe Dress Photography

While I’ve never been particularly drawn to the idea of birthday photoshoots, my 40th birthday two years ago marked a turning point. Deciding to indulge in one proved to be a decision I’ll forever cherish. The resulting images were not just photographs but works of art, capturing the essence of that milestone in exquisite detail. The process of preparing for the shoot, from selecting the perfect wardrobe to having my makeup meticulously applied, was an experience in itself, one that left me feeling pampered and empowered.

This year, as my birthday approached in March, I found myself yearning for something different, something that would transcend the ordinary. Thus, the concept of Luxe Dress Photography was born. Instead of the typical photoshoot, I envisioned a session that would embody elegance and sophistication, with long silk dresses flowing gracefully in the wind, capturing the essence of luxury.

Furthermore, I wanted to pay homage to my roots. Born and raised in Kenya, I wanted to incorporate elements of my heritage into the shoot. Thus, alongside the modern elegance of the luxe dress session, I included a traditional photoshoot that celebrated the vibrant culture and colors of my homeland.

Now, almost two months after my birthday, I find myself reflecting on the experience with immense gratitude. The post-birthday photoshoot has become more than just a collection of images; it’s a testament to my style, my heritage, and the journey I’ve taken to this point. I’m thrilled to share this enriching experience with other women who appreciate the beauty of capturing life’s moments in such a refined manner.
